Annual International Artist in Residence Program. In 1998, the company established its Annual International Artist in Residence Program for a month of performances and workshops to provide professional development for the company, enrichment for our students and to the Bay Area Flamenco community. During the first two years, the company brought dancer Manuel Betanzos from Spain, 2000 & 2001 dancer, Marco Salcedo from Mexico City, 2002 and 2003 dancer, Concha Vargas
Carolina & Tachiria have received a great deal of recognition over the 26 years. Since 2000, they have been recognized for their creative talents and has received multiple creative works awards for her choreographic pieces and community outreach from the California Arts Council, Diablo Regional Arts Association, Zellerbach Family Foundation, Dean and Margaret Lesher Foundation, the Town of Danville, California Alliance For Traditional Arts, San Francisco Arts Commission, Thomas Longs Foundation, Fort Mason Foundation, San Francisco Grants for the Arts.
Carolina Lugo’s Ballet Flamenco is a non-profit tax-exempt organization under the Fiscal Sponsorship Program of Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco’s oldest alternative arts organization. Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1965, Intersection’s Fiscal Sponsorship Program, provides financial management, fundraising and production assistance, and project oversight for our program. Contributions in support of Ballet Flamenco are greatly appreciated. All contributions are fully deductible to the extent allowed by law.
